A Lazy Day, A Perfect Day!

Around the corner from our house is the perfect place to anchor and soak up the sun!

We've had countless "one-day weekends" lately, and this past weekend was no exception.  However, we made the most of our Sunday ... the day of rest.  Our daughter was in town and was able to spend the day with us, so after filling up on brunch the three of us boarded Nirvana for a day that really was ... Nirvana!

Ken and I have suffered from a lack of energy from our recent work schedules, so we opted for a lazy day on the water.  The sails were not touched, and instead our attention was given to the anchor.  Ahhh, the joy of an anchor!  Sometimes there's nothing better than just picking a spot, dropping anchor, and chillin' for the day.  Once we anchored, we turned off the engine and turned on the tunes ... pure relaxation!

While Ken remained in the cockpit with a few beers and great views of passing boats, my daughter and I claimed our spots on the bow and soaked up the sun's rays for the first time this year.  While we lay on Nirvana we could hear the music playing softly from the cockpit while our skin enjoyed both the warmth of the sun and the constant light breeze blowing across the water.  We never broke a sweat, and every now and then I'd open my eyes to the bluest skies you could imagine with random puffs of clouds that looked like white cotton.  After all life's chaos, it was like we had finally stopped time and we held on to it for as long as we could!

I snuck this shot of our daughter after we pulled up the anchor

Being able to share this relaxing day with our daughter made it perfect!  During this busy life, Ken and I treasure the small pockets of time that we have with her.  She's become one of our best friends, and there's nothing like quality time with a loved one.  We're already looking forward to the next time.

Hasta luego ... until then.  Mid-Life Cruising!

There is nothing better than a day out on the water. Nothing. We're going on a three day cruise this coming weekend.

Have a terrific day. :)

Ahhh....I can feel the sunshine as I look at your photo.

On Sunday we were able to sit in the sun on a friend's boat. We were wrapped up in jackets and tied up at dock, but it still felt great.

Sounds like a blast!! I also have been trying to get some sun.

It's nice that you got to spend time with your daughter.
