Settling ...

Virgin Islands, 2012

I love the above quote by Nelson Mandela.  Settling for a ho-hum life and not embracing change or adventure is just ... settling!  As Mr. Mandela said ... there's no passion in that.

I was talking to my Dad the other day and venting about our struggles to get cruising.  We spoke about dreams and reaching them.  Even though he and I don't share the same dreams, he understood my passion for sailing away.  As we discussed ... once you find a passion for something, you have to go for it!  Since Ken and I have decided we wanted to cruise (and would), there's no turning back.  We couldn't be happy living life knowing that we didn't do everything in our power to achieve our dream.  That would settling, and we wouldn't be able to feel good about ourselves.  We couldn't bear to be in our 70's and wondering what our lives would have been like if only we'd have had the guts to go cruising.  To us, regrets about doing nothing are far worse than whatever consequences come from living our dream.

Today, we lowered the price on our house once again.  We wanna get out there!

Hasta luego ... until then.  Mid-Life Cruising!

Excellent post. We are living your dream, and you will be soon. Hang in there.

Have a fabulous day and weekend. Do some Ken and Cheryl time. ☺

It's so frustrating to be trying to sell something you know is a good thing, but others are passing it by. Keep trying. It will eventually sell. You never know why things are the way they are. Moonrise still hasn't sold, but now our son is considering taking her as a liveaboard for the rest of his college time! Who knew? Things happen for reasons we cannot control. You'll get there.
