Roll Me Away!

Not much exciting happening lately.  Unfortunately, football season is over here in New Orleans and we haven't spent any time on the water.  I've been working with Ken the past several days painting the inside of a client's house.  I don't mind painting, as long as I don't have to paint trim or cut in ... just roll!  After several days of "rolling" while dreaming of the day we become cruisers, the song "Roll Me Away" by Bob Seger kept running through my mind.  After all, this song is about hope and choices!  Plus, before Ken and I bought a sailboat we spent a lot of time on our motorcyles.  They've been neglected for quite a while now .. time to clean them and go for a spin soon!

Here are a few of the words to this song ...

Stood alone on a mountain top, starin' out at the Great Divide
I could go east, I could go west, it was all up to me to decide
Just then I saw a young hawk flyin' and my soul began to rise
And pretty soon My heart was singin'!

Whether on two wheels or on the waves of the water ... just "ROLL ME AWAY"!

Hasta luego ... until then.  Mid-Life Cruising!

Bob Seger, Deb's favorite. Saw him in Buffalo last year. Pretty awesome for an old guy :)

Don't know how you rode those bikes. I had a hard time with the stupid little scooter on vacation, and it was limited to 35 mph!
Cool song. Did you know Bob is a sailor? I believe he won the Mackinac one year. He has a song called Night Sailing, unfortunately he sounds like a screech Owl in it :)
You notice the counter on our blog?

You two are always so busy if you ask me. I can so remember riding motorcycles. Such freedom. Love the song.

Have a terrific day. :)

Thanks for reminding me about the music of Bob Seger. Growing up in Detroit and actually attending one of the Live Bullet shows I need to keep that music "closer." My wife and I are like you and Ken, looking towards a fall 13' departure aboard Magnolia. Thanks again, lets all keep our eye on the prize!

Paul, I had no idea "Bob" was a sailor! As far as riding the motorcycle, I was scared to death at first but it becomes as easy as a bicycle. =)

Yeah, I've noticed our counter .. pretty cool!

Magnolia, glad yo enjoyed this. I bet Seger's concerts are pretty great. 2013 seems to be the year for a lot of us. Yes, it's hard lately but let's all keep our eye on the prize and meet up someday! From Detroit? We're also Kid Rock fans. Don't care for his older Rap music, but loves his past few albums. Keep in touch!
