We Have A Sponsor!

Cruising Concepts Retrofit Windows
The past two weekends have been really rainy, so Ken and I haven't done any sailing lately.  The rain seemed to be a valid excuse to stay indoors, but after looking out back yesterday and seeing our neighbors across the canal barbecuing in the storm ... I guess we're just lame!  The rain was really coming down and not only were our neighbors barbecuing, but they had several friends over and they were all in the hot tub ... in the rain with no cover.  At least somebody was having fun!

We may not have had much fun in the sun lately, but the rain didn't stop us from working on something we're really excited about ... obtaining a new sponsor!  Yes, we have a new sponsor ... Cruising Concepts! Check out their site and tell Mike we sent ya.

Cruising Concepts provides quality custom accessories for sailboats such as retrofit windows and hatches, custom companionway doors, interior doors, cockpit tables, and so much more.  Cruising Concepts is owned by a great guy named Mike, and thanks to his generosity we are getting the retrofit windows (pictured above) for our Catalina.  We are really excited about their arrival, and so thankful that Mike has decided to work with us.  Nirvana has suffered from leaky ports, so not only will these windows stop the leaks but they'll give Nirvana yet another updated look.  Currently Nirvana has aluminum ports, which give away her age on both the exterior and interior.  The new ports will eliminate the aluminum frame on the outside and replace the aluminum frame inside with a white frame, blending into Nirvana's interior.  In our opinion, the older ports are the last real "giveaway" of Nirvana's age (1987) and she'll be looking even younger soon!

We've also added a new page to our site, Sponsors.  This page is a work in progress and it will consist of those businesses that have helped us reach our dream by providing us with discounts, free products, cash, etc.  We plan on adding more great products and services to this page.  If you have a product or service that you'd like us to try and share on our site, please click the "Email Us" link on the right of this site and email us.

We'll keep you posted on the installation of these windows, as well as the finished product.

Hasta luego ... until then.  Mid-Life Cruising!

that's fantastic!!!!! I've been looking at his site a thousand times trying to see if I should get those ports... Please please please take lots of pictures before and after inside and out, and let me know how that turns out! I am in the same boat as you, literally... with leaky ports as well. :-)

Congratulations on your new sponsor. How cool.

I've done a BBQ in the rain, but I was very young then.

Have a terrific day. :)

Igor, we'll definitely let you know how the new ports work out. John, um, I mean "Anonymous" ...you crack me up! Wouldn't it be nice if we could get Catalina to give us a new boat?! Maybe we could at least get them to work with us on something.
