Hoppin Around

With Easter being this past Sunday, Ken and I spent the weekend "hoppin around" visiting friends and family.  Saturday was spent in Mississippi at my brother's home.  The afternoon was warm and breezy, a perfect day for barbecuing and visiting with family.

My brother's home overlooks a lake that my dad had built, and we really enjoyed the view!  As the sun set, easter eggs were hidden and the kids enjoyed an easter egg hunt with flashlights.  We really enjoyed getting away to the country.

On Easter Sunday Ken and I went to a friend's home nearby for a crawfish boil.  This was no ordinary crawfish boil, as it was the First Annual Crawfish Boil Off!  This meant that two teams were boiling crawfish, and at the end of the day the guests voted for their favorite boil.  It was hard to choose the winner, as they were both really good!  However, a winner was chosen and he received a large trophy that he will have to fight to keep next year.  I have yet to taste crawfish better than those that Ken boils, so I'm thinking he needs to enter the challenge next year!

Our daughter, her boyfriend, and Erica's childhood friend joined us for Easter and crawfish!

We can't believe it's almost May!  Time is really getting away from us, and in less than 2 weeks is Jazz Fest.  All this play makes it hard to find time for anything productive on the weekends.  Oh well, we did tackle that teak on the sailboat and we do have some exciting plans ahead.

Hasta luego ... until then.  Mid-Life Cruising!

What a fun weekend indeed. I'm so happy you got out to the country to enjoy some space, family, friends and some awesome food. It doesn't get any better than that.

Have a terrific day and week ahead. :)
