Saints Kick Off

Being a New Orlean's native, I had to blog about the Saint's NFL Kick-Off last night and their victory over the Minnesota Vikings.  Geaux Saints!   Ken and I took off work early and headed to the French Quarter to take part in the celebration.  The above picture shows Decatur Street, which is parallel to the Mississippi River and where Taylor Swift and Dave Matthews would later play.  The area of trees to the left is Jackson Square and the river runs along the right side of the street.

NFL getting the French Quarter ready for the big event, and The NFL Experience with various booths featuring games and prizes.  This was held in a parking lot near the Riverfront.

Saints Country!

Hey Brett, How's That Ankle?

Bourbon Street ... if you love to people watch like we do then here's the place!

We wanted to watch the game on our own tv at home (boy, are we sounding old) so after taking in all of the sights we headed home and picked up some fresh shrimp on the way.  It is safe to eat our seafood!  Ken made barbecue shrimp which is one of our favorite dishes.  There's no barbecue sauce, but lots of butter so you just add bread for dipping.  What could be better ... Saints and Shrimp!

Finger-licking good!

As I've mentioned before, we love New Orleans with its culture, great food and great people!  The excitement and energy in the city last night was a lot of fun, but every time we visit the French Quarter we feel it.  If you're thinking of visiting, come on down and drop us a line.

We're looking forward to another great football season!  Hasta luego ... until then.  Mid-Life Cruising!
